Introduction: Nalanda Open University Courses is one of the only universities in the state of Bihar that is imparting higher education through distance education. The foundation of the university was laid in March, 1987 by an ordinance, supported by the Government of Bihar. In the later years the Nalanda Open University Act, 1995 was passed by the Bihar legislature, replacing the older ordinance and the University came under the jurisdiction of the new Act automatically.
Nalanda Open University offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and diploma programs in numerous streams, one can find many programs over here like science, commerce, library, arts etc. The university also offers many certificate and diploma courses like BA Hons, BCA, BBA, M Com, Msc, MA etc.

Nalanda Open University Courses Admission process
The admission in the Nalanda Open University begins around August, The eligibility criteria are based on the merit and entrance exam as well. The admission during this time is offered in the various programs like Bachelors, Masters, Certificate and Diploma courses. Candidates can choose program according to their choice and qualification.
For undergraduate program admission requirement is minimum 10+2 in a related subject. Students in the related subjects. Further, for B.Ed admission a Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 45% and 2 years of work experience.
Post graduation admission requirement is a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related subject area and the admission is based on merit achieved in the qualifying exams. Programs available are M.A, M.Sc, MJMC, MCA and MLIS. For admission in MCA program minimum requirement is BCA/B.Sc (computer science) or a Bachelor’s degree with mathematics as one of the subject.
