Introduction: Kannada University Distance Education Courses is been proudly serving the nation since its inception. The regular Kannada University was founded in 1991 by the Kannada University Act, 1991. The purpose of the university was to promote quality based education to the state individuals and promote educational research by the establishing departments within the university. Nevertheless, the university is also a bonafide institution to offer “Nadoja” honors which is surprisingly equal to Honorary Doctor of Literature degree. Under the umbrella of the university, the institution has the capacity to offer programs like undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated programs, doctoral degree and other specialty courses like Diploma in Sculpture, Diploma in Music (Sangeetha), Fine arts and BA in (Sangeetha). Candidate can gain admission through entrance test for modalities of course like PG and PhD degree, for undergraduate courses admission, pre-qualifying exam results are taken into consideration.
Kannada University to disseminate higher education to the section of society who is left behind due to many reasons like poverty, job commitments, and dropouts or simply because of geographical distance extended the university into distance education mode from 2001. Against this backdrop, the institution is offering distance education courses like undergraduate, postgraduate, certification, diploma and other programs.
The university is recognized by University grants commission (UGC) and is also a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Kannada University Distance Education Courses
Admission into programs like Undergraduate and Postgraduate is done on the basis of pre-qualifying exams and for PhD programs candidates have to opt for entrance exam.

Kannada University Distance Education Courses Admission Process
- Candidates by paying fee to get both the admission form and the prospectus from the university.
- On the date designated by the institution for admission, the completed form should be provided along with the required documentation.
- The applications will be properly reviewed, and the applicants with the best marks will be short-listed.
- Shortlisted students must take an admission examination administered by the university.
- Those who pass the admission exam will be accepted to the institution.
- The procedure will be repeated depending on the availability of seats.
- The application fee for Kannada UG and PG courses is INR 1000. The admission fee for respected courses isINR 2000.
