STEM Scholars: Shaping the next Generation of Innovators, The STEM Scholars program — delivered in collaboration with the NASSCOM Foundation and supported by Optum’s CSR initiative — is designed to open doors for students from underrepresented and economically challenged backgrounds who aspire to build careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The initiative provides holistic financial support, including coverage of tuition fees, study materials, and living expenses, while encouraging academic excellence through a merit-based selection process.

The program is open to students in their 3rd or 4th year of B.E./B.Tech, Pharmacy, or Life Sciences, as well as students enrolled in 5-year integrated engineering programs (such as B.Tech + M.Tech or B.E. + M.E.) who are currently in their 4th or 5th year. Eligible students must be enrolled in recognized government or private institutions located in Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, or Hyderabad. Beyond financial assistance, STEM Scholars gain access to mentorship, guidance, and internship opportunities that help them strengthen their professional skills and prepare for future career growth.

Eligibility for STEM Scholars: Shaping the next Generation of Innovators

 

  • Students currently in the 3rd or 4th year of B.E./B.Tech programs in Computer Science, Pharmacy, or Life Sciences are eligible to apply.
  • Students enrolled in 5-year integrated engineering programs (such as B.Tech + M.Tech or B.E. + M.E.) may also apply, provided they are in their 4th or 5th year.
  • Applicants must be studying in recognized government or private institutions located in Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, or Hyderabad.
  • Preference will be given to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwD categories, as well as girls, single-parent students, and orphans.
  • Applicants should have secured at least 65% marks in Class 12.
  • The annual family income from all sources should not exceed INR 8 lakh.
  • Children of employees, partners, or donors associated with the scholarship are not eligible.

Selected students will receive financial assistance of INR 30,000 to support their academic expenses.
