About government ITI colleges in Assam

The Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) are established in the various districts of the state in order to train interested students for various vocational trade crafts that can land them jobs easily. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship the Directorate of Employment and Training (DGET) looks after all the ITI across Indian states.

The aim of the ITI is to provide skilled technical training to candidates interested in various engineering and non-engineering trades which after the successful completion even assist them to get a government job. The admission is provided in to the ITI courses by two ways

1. On the basis of previous qualifying marks obtained in the exams.
2. On the basis of entrance exam.

Although admission process vary across India and each state is responsible for putting forth their own rules and regulation for admission.

As soon as the candidate completes the vocational training in his lane of trade he/she has to appear for All India Trade Test (AITT) in order to get the National Trade Certificate (NTC)

Government ITI colleges in Assam Entrance Exam Eligibility

The basic foundation of eligibility criteria is constructed by the state government and union territories with consultation with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Educational Qualification Students who have completed Class 8th, Class 10th and Class 12th are eligible.

Age Limit The minimum age for the course is 14 years. There is no upper age limit for the exam.

Government ITI colleges in Assam Selection process

 

The selection process in Government ITI colleges in Assam is simple; the admission is provided either through entrance exam or on the basis of marks obtained in the standard class which is used as basis for the admission. If the selection is done through marks obtained in the class then a merit list is prepared depending upon the choice of course and seats available.
