Introduction: Polytechnic Colleges in Assam, in general are like any other Polytechnic college that offers diploma or vocational course majorly focusing on technical education. That said, Polytechnic program are aggressive program that are by and large are for three years and after a successful completion a candidate must obtain a certificate. Nearly all branches of engineering are focused in the Polytechnic institute for instance mechanical, electrical, civil, and others in the same stream of branches diploma is provided on the successful completion of the program. To suffice the market demand to produce professionals, increase in admissions into polytechnic courses have been observed, now Polytechnic offers similar course like B.Tech and B.E only difference is that in a Polytechnic college the institute offers a diploma, however, in other engineering colleges a student is offered a degree after the completion of the course.

Polytechnic Colleges in Assam Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates can learn through below points eligibility criteria for admission in Assam
The candidate must have passed class 10 or an equivalent examination in a single sitting with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects without any grace marks.
The candidates must have scored a minimum score of 40 % for General category candidates, 35 % for Schedule Caste candidates, and 33 % for Scheduled Tribe candidates.
The General category and OBC candidates must not be above the age of 23 years and 6 months as of December 31 of the year of admission.
The Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category candidates must not be above the age of 23 years and 6 months as of December 31 of the year of admission.
Polytechnic Colleges in Assam Registration Process
The admission into a Polytechnic College in Assam is based on entrance exam known as Assam Polytechnic Test (PAT), candidates can only get it through online mode on the official website of DTE Assam.
How to apply?
Visit the official website.
Click on the ‘Online Application for PAT’ tab.
The application form appears on the screen.
Fill in the details in the application form and select the desired course.
After filling in the required details, pay the application fee.
Now after completing the application form, take a printout of the same for future reference.
Note: The application fee for all candidates is INR 500.
Polytechnic Colleges in Assam Counseling Process
The counseling for admission to the Polytechnic program is done after the declaration of the result of the Polytechnic Admission Test.
The candidates need to fill out the online counseling form made available online on the official website of DTE, Assam.
Upload the mentioned documents. Upload the correct documents to prevent the cancellation of the candidature.
The status of the allotment and branch of the candidate will be uploaded on the official website.
Note: The seats are reserved for the reserved category candidates in the Polytechnic institutes of Assam under the Government of India’s Reservation.
