Eligibility Criteria for CAET Entrance Exam for Admission in IIT Abu Dhabi (UAE)

 

Eligibility Criteria:

 

Candidates wishing to apply for the CAET must meet the eligibility criteria set by the organizing body. The requirements are as follows:
1. Academic Eligibility: Candidates must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks (or equivalent) in class XII (or equivalent) Board exam.

Or

Must be in the top 20 percentile in their respective class XII (or equivalent) board exam.

2. Age Limit: Candidates should have been born on or after 01 October 1999.

Note: Two-year age relaxation may be applicable as per UAE national policy.

3. No of Attempts: Maximum two attempts in two consecutive years.

 

4. Year of Passing:

 

Students must have taken the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either the current year or the previous year.
5. Earlier Admission in IIT:

 

A candidate must not have previously been admitted to any IIT, regardless of whether they completed the program or accepted and subsequently relinquished a seat.
6. Score in EmSAT/SAT: EmSAT Score in Mathematics: Minimum 1150/2000

SAT Score in Mathematics: Minimum 700/800

 

7. Language Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate a minimum proficiency in English, as outlined below. The test should have been completed within the last two years from an accredited provider.

EmSAT A score of 1100 on the English Language
TOFEL A score of 500 or equivalent such as (173 CBT, 61 iBT)

Other Criteria for CAET Entrance Exam for Admission in IIT Abu Dhabi (UAE)
  • UAE Residents: Indian nationals who are children of UAE residents and have lived in the UAE for at least five years, completing their Class X to XII education in the UAE, are eligible.
  • International Students: This category includes students who are neither UAE Nationals nor Indian Nationals. Additionally, candidates holding OCI/PIO cards issued on or after March 4, 2021, will be classified as international students.
  • Board Exam Marks: The aggregate and cut-off marks will be determined based on scores in five subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, a language, and one additional subject.
  • Age Relaxation: UAE Nationals who have completed one year of compulsory military service, verified by a valid certificate, will receive a one-year age relaxation.
 
How to Complete the Application Process for CAET Entrance Exam
Step 1: Complete the Registration Process
  • Fill in your details, including name, contact number, email address, and date of birth.
  • Create a password.
  • Check the confirmation box.
  • Click on “Register.”
  • Your login credentials will be sent to your registered email address.

 

Step 2: Enter Your Details

 

  • Provide your personal information.
  • Select your preferred examination center.
  • Indicate whether you have completed National Service (applicable only for UAE Nationals).
  • Specify if you are a Person of Determination.
Step 3: Complete Your Academic Information

 

  • If you are currently in Grade 12/Year 13, select 2024 as your appearing year.
  • For Indian expatriates residing in the UAE for five years or more, enter your scores from Grade 8 to 12.
  • If you have valid EmSAT or SAT scores in Mathematics, enter them; if not, choose “Yet to appear.”
  • Select an English proficiency test from the dropdown menu, choosing the one with the highest score if you have taken multiple tests. If you don’t have a valid score yet, select “Yet to appear.” You can submit the scorecard later during the selection process.
