Steel Authority of India Recruitment 2026 for General Duty Medical Officer Walk In Interview, The Collieries Division, a captive coal-producing unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and a Public Sector Enterprise, with coal mines located at Chasnalla, Jitpur, and Tasra (Dhanbad, Jharkhand) and Ramnagore (Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal), invites applications from qualified doctors, including retired professionals, for engagement at its dispensaries. Eligible candidates are requested to appear for a Walk-in Interview for appointment as General Duty Medical Officers (GDMO) under the following specifications, terms, and conditions.

Interested and eligible candidates possessing the requisite qualifications may attend the walk-in selection interview at the designated venue.
Additionally, ex-employees of SAIL plants/units and other PSUs or Government organizations are also eligible to apply, provided they have not separated from service through voluntary retirement. Former employee doctors will be required to submit a self-declaration as part of the application process.
Age Limit for Steel Authority of India Recruitment 2026 for General Duty Medical Officer Walk In Interview
Candidates should not be more than 69 years of age as on the date of the advertisement. The upper age limit for contractual engagement under this scheme is 70 years. However, all doctors engaged must be medically fit to effectively perform their duties.
Essential Qualification & Remuneration
The essential qualifications and corresponding remuneration for doctors to be engaged under the scheme are as follows:
Essential Qualification
- MBBS degree from a University/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
- Candidates possessing relevant work experience will be given preference.
The essential qualification and work experience shall be considered as on the date of advertisement, i.e., 12.01.2026.
Rate of Consolidated Remuneration
Rs. 1,00,000/- per month
Selection Process
- Selection will be conducted through a Walk-in Interview, followed by a medical screening.
b. Engagement will commence immediately after selection, subject to issuance of engagement orders.
c. Candidates applying for the post under “Engagement of Doctors at SAIL Collieries Division on Contract Basis” must download the prescribed Application Form (Annexure-I) and submit the duly filled form along with all required supporting documents at the time of the walk-in interview. No other mode of application will be accepted.
