Indian Coast Guard Pilot & Navigator- Eligibility Criteria, Scope and Future

Introduction: Indian Coast Guard Pilot & Navigator are one of the key positions in the Indian Coast Guard services, apparently it is one the forces of the union which is responsible to enforce the maritime laws of the India along its coastal line. The coast guards work closely with the Indian Navy and Indian |Customs which makes it very competent and adventurous jobs as well.

The selection process to Indian Coast Guard services is same as the Indian Navy, Indian Army and Indian Air Force. The process is conveyed and organized by the Service Selection Board (SSB) one has to follow the eligibility criteria and rules of SSB.

1) General Duty (Pilot/Navigator)

2) Short Service appointment (Pilot only)

The first category of the post General Duty (Pilot/Navigator) is open for only male candidates only. Perhaps the second category post which is short service appointment (Pilot only) is open for both and male and female candidates.

List and Eligibility Indian Coast Guard Pilot & Navigator

1) General Duty (Pilot/Navigator)

The General Duty (Pilot/Navigator) is the post only eligible for Males candidates only. Below you will find eligibility details pertaining to Age Limit, Education Qualification and Medical standards.

Eligibility Criteria for General Duty (Pilot/Navigator)

Age Age Relaxation Education Qualification
Age limit is between 19-25 years of age SC/ST candidates (5 years)

OBC (3 years)

 

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.

Also applicants must have a 10+2 Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the main subjects.

 

 

Medical Eligibility Criteria for General Duty (Pilot/Navigator)

Post Height Weight Chest Eyesight
General Duty (Pilot/Navigator) Minimum height requirement- 162.5 cm. Maximum height- 197 cm. Minimum leg length- 99 cm. Maximum leg length- 120 cm. Proportionate to the Height and Age. Good fitness with 5 cms of chest expansion 6/6 –without Glass in both eyes

 2) Short Service appointment (Pilot only)

The above entry mode is for a short service period which is approximately for 8 years at first but it could be extended 10 to 14 years as per rules and service delivered during the past tenure. The post is also open for both male and female candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for Short Service appointment (Pilot only) with valid CPL (Commercial Pilot licence)

Age Age Relaxation Education Qualification
Age limit is between 19-25 years of age SC/ST candidates (5 years)

OBC (3 years)

 

Applicant should hold a commercial Pilot License (CPL) authorized by Director General of Civil Aviation.

10+2 from a recognized board with Mathematics and Physics as mandatory subjects with 60% aggregate marks.

 

 

 

Medical Eligibility Criteria for Short Service appointment (Pilot only)

Short Service appointment (Pilot only) Minimum height requirement- 162.5 cm. Maximum height- 197 cm. Minimum leg length- 99 cm. Maximum leg length- 120 cm. Proportionate to the Height and Age. Good fitness with 5 cms of chest expansion 6/6  –without Glass in both eyes
