The organisation has fostered four generations of parentless and abandoned children and enabled them to lead constructive lives. The children are provided an identity, a family to call their own, and most importantly, a life that has set examples for others to grow up to become active and contributing members of society.

SOSCVI also provides support to vulnerable families as a part of its Family Strengthening Programme.

Family Strengthening Programme SOS India provides support to vulnerable families as a part of its Family Strengthening (FS) Programme. It is a preventive community intervention programme through which over 35000 children have been empowered as on May31, 2024. Designed to prevent children from losing parental care or being abandoned, this programme runs in slums & rural areas, within a 30 km radius of an SOS Children’s Village.

The program participants of FS are children from the most vulnerable families i.e., children of widows, single women, and Below Poverty Line (BPL) families as well as families whose livelihoods have been impacted by disaster. Spanning 5 years, the programme aims to enable families to move out of the vicious cycle of poverty towards greater dignity and self-reliance by ensuring children’s education and income generating capacity development of the caregivers The organisation has also been a first responder, each time a natural or man-made disaster has struck India, providing active assistance and initiating relief operations and activities, with central importance being given to affected children.

SOSCVI recognizes the need for substantial internal change as it gears up to address the evolving needs of parentless and abandoned children in India in the 2030s. The organization shall be pursuing modified strategies and approaches and updating its service offerings via its basket of care services, as well.

Areas of Responsibility (Co-worker-Kinship (Contractual) Job Vacancy in Uttarakhand)

  • To collect all the necessary information to Intake of new children into Kinship Program, including preliminary screening and ensure the required documentations
  • To review case files where appropriate, to assist in identifying potential kin for child/children who would potentially benefit from a Kinship program Placement; Organise the MOU with the identified Kinship Caregiver.
  • In coordination with the Kinship families, and Child Welfare Committee (CWC) / DCPU for getting the KINSHIP Placement orders.
  • To follow established regulations and standards as per the Organisations KINSHIP Guidelines, and document the information gathered in a clear, concise manner according to the program requirements;
  • To provide ongoing service to assigned Existing Kinship families as per the Guidelines.
  • To work collaboratively with the Kinship families and Children, to ensure the Preparation and review of Individual Care Plan for all the children in Program.
  • Organise and promotes the participation of children and the Kinship caregivers in the Capacity Building trainings respectively.
  • Coordinate with the Govt Departments and the community organisations to ensure the basic documents (Aadhar, Bank Account, Community Certificate, Birth Certificate, Voter ID, Ration Card) for the Children in KINSHIP families.
  • Support and coordinate with the KINSHIP family to ensure the quality education of the Children. Organise the necessary Education Materials support and additional coaching/ Tuition if required.
  • Visits to the Educational Institutions whenever necessary and ensure No Dropouts and the quality education of all the children in KINSHIP Program.
  • Support and coordinate with the KINSHIP family to ensure the Kinship Children are getting necessary medical support and regular Bi annual medical assessments.
  • Visits to KINSHIP Families regularly as per the Program requirements Provides ongoing assessment and support to children who are living in Kinship families.
  • Recruiting the suitable Mentors at the Location level, orient them towards the KINSHIP Mentorship and monitor them regularly.
  • Collect the Field level reports and Prepare the Monthly reports for the location in consultation with the Location Incharge. Support in Providing the reports/ Documentations as per the Govt/ Donor proposals.
  • Organise the Visits to the Kinship families for the Govt officials/ Donors when necessary.
  • Ensure the Financial Transactions to the Kinship Families on time every month and ensure all the Financial supportive documents in the office custody.
  • Updating the Children and Kinship Caregiver details in the Program data base (PDB) regularly.
  • Ensure the care promises of the organization while exiting the children/ Youth from the Kinship program.

  • Basic working Knowledge with MS office.
  • Driving Skills with License (Preferable)
