Introduction: Lalit Narayan Mithila University Distance Education Courses is a public university which has a campus of 230 acres with every modern facility available for students and faculty members within the campus. The university offers a wide range of courses from undergraduate to postgraduate from streams like Arts, Commerce, technology and Science streams and professional courses like B.Ed and M.Ed.
In order to spread out the quality education to the section of society who are unable to prevail higher education due to high range of fees or work commitments the university opened it’s The Directorate of Distance Education in Lalit Narayan Mithila University in 1998. Dr. Harendra Singh the controller of examination L.M.N.U, Distance education Darbhanga was the first Director in-charge of the Directorare of Distance Education along with the members of the government body members. However, it is note worthy that the Directorate becomes functional and operative in 2005.
The university has approval from the State of Bihar Government, University Grants Commission (UGC), DEB and NCTE.
