About NATA 2023 entrance examination

According to Wikipedia the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is an India level entrance exam which is conducted by the National Institute of Advanced studies in Architecture (NIASA). It is the body of Council of Architecture, New Delhi in India. The National Aptitude Test in Architecture is national level examination for admission in Undergraduate courses in architecture. The entrance exam is designed to assess the  aptitude of candidates for specific field of study in areas like observation skills and drawing, aesthetic, sensitivity, sense of proportion, critical thinking. These qualities are related to the study of architecture which is acquired over a long period of time.

NATA or the AIEEE B. Arch exam is prescribed by the council of Architecture as necessary criteria for taking admission to any architecture college in India.

NATA 2023 Entrance Exam Application Form

Applicants are requested to follow the steps below for successful filling of application form.

  • Candidate’s application form shall only be filled through online mode on the NATA official web portal.
  • The NATA 2023 application form will be available online from February
  • Candidates should note that the details such as personal, documents uploading & fee payment will be required so prepare accordingly.
  • Candidates should take the printout of confirmation page generated upon successful fee payment for future usage and safety.
  • There is no need to send the hardcopy of any document to official authority of NATA exam it will be submitted at the time of admission in that particular institute/college.
  • Candidates should make sure to carefully fill all the details in the application form. To correct the details in the application form as only one chance will be given to rectify the mistakes.

 

NATA 2023 Entrance Exam Application Fee

The NATA 2023 entrance exam application fee can be paid using the debit/credit card or net banking.

Application fee is displayed according to Category and Session wise, checkout the table below.

NATA 2023 Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are mentioned below for student’s reference. It is also suggested that you all should once check the criteria with the official released notification.

  • Qualification: Candidate should pass 10+2 scheme of examination.
  • Required Percentage: Candidate should have at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and also at least 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Appearing Candidates: Such candidates appearing the 10+2 exam in the current year may also provisionally appear in the exam.

Note: No direct lateral admission is allowed at any other year/stage of B.Arch. Course.

 
NATA 2023 Entrance Exam Pattern

The NATA 2023 entrance exam pattern is described below. Marking scheme is also an important thing to know about, follow the below pointers.

Part A & B ·          Part A will be comprised of MCQ, Mathematics & general parts: aptitude which is to be answered online and Part B is on drawing, which is paper based.
Total Marks Allotted ·         In online mode, the question paper will be of 120 marks and in offline mode; the question paper will be of 80 marks.
Language ·         The question paper medium will be in English.
Marking Scheme ·         2 marks will be provided for each correct response.

NATA 2023 Entrance Exam Syllabus

The syllabus is focused on the mental and drawing ability of the candidate and it is divided into two parts. The focus of the NATA exam is to test the ability of a candidate on the Mathematics at 10+2 level with critical thinking. Another major focus is drawing and observation skills, esthetic sensitivity, and sense of proportion.

NATA 2023 Entrance Exam Preparation tips
 

When it comes to entrance exam preparation, preparing well in advance gives an edge to the candidate and they feel more confident. From our side we would like to present some useful tips that could help student to prepare for the exam like a boss.

  • All students must prepare a study plan according to the syllabus and exam pattern. More priority should be given to feeble subjects and lesser to ones you know better.
  • Students must learn to plan time for revision for prepared subjects well in advance so that last minute panic could be avoided.
  • Solving previous years and mock papers is an added bonus because now you know what kinds of questions are asked and how to answer them within the stipulated exam time.
  • Writing helps to memorize better and recollection of information when needed is faster so make it a practice to make notes for better memory.
  • For improvement in general knowledge applicants should read newspapers for current affairs and general knowledge magazines to enhance knowledge in this sphere.
  • Create a workout regimen, say, for 5 days a week, running and body weight exercises are good to keep you physically and psychologically fit. Take time out to have fun and enjoy life also concurrently with studying.

NATA 2023 Entrance Exam Admit Card

The admit card will be available online by the first week of May 2023 and September 2023 respectively. It will have the details like roll number, name of candidate and allotted examination center for the entrance exam.

Along with the admit card a photo identity card should also be required, student may carry Voter Card/ Pan Card/ Aadhar Card/ Driving License for purpose of verification.

For admission into the examination hall students have to get their admit card checked so it is very important to carry the admit card during the examination.

NATA 2023 Entrance Exam Answer Key

Post the examination the candidate answer will be published on the official website. Model answers to the MCQ for the Part A shall be available for the reference of the candidate through online mode.

As per the rules before the publication of final results, the response sheets of each candidate will be uploaded along with the Part wise marks obtained by the applicant.

There is no provision of review of Part B exam (drawing test). After the final publication of the result, no review will be entertained.

 

NATA 2023 Entrance Exam Result

The separate score card for each test will be created. In the score card the second test will also have the marks obtained in the first test along with the second test.

The declared result will be available on the online portal of the official website and should be downloaded by the candidate.

 

NATA 2023 Entrance Exam Cut off

NATA cut off is also an important criteria for admission based on which a student will be able to secure a seat in the architecture college in India. The announcement of the cut off will be done through online mode.

The cut off is the minimum marks obtained by a candidate to qualify the entrance examination. Also the cut off marks depend on the number of candidate’s appeared for the examination, number seats available in the exam year and level of difficulty of exams.

Candidates should obtain 25% marks in MCQ portion and 25% marks in drawing portion.

 

NATA 2023 Entrance Exam Counseling

The provision of counseling is different in NATA as there is no centralized counseling available. Candidates have to separately apply for counseling on the chosen college for admission.

The score card will be required for counseling in the institute in which the aspirant wants to take admission. They have to adhere to the rules of the particular college.

The verification process of documents will be done by the institute itself so please carry original certificates with you. Final admission is strictly based on the eligibility criteria of that particular institute.
