Introduction: Universities in Egypt are very popular among residents and expats alike, so much so they attract foreign nationals to study in the country. Officially known as Arab republic of Egypt it is country that connects northeast Africa with the Middle East, and also has history related to pharaohs.

Egypt has a rich cultural heritage coming from history of pharaohs, it has museums dedicated to it, and the country has great cuisine, sports activities, festivals and historic places to visit.

The economy of Egypt is mainly focused on petroleum imports, agriculture, media, natural gas and tourism. Majority of Egyptian choose to work abroad for better opportunities in countries like Saudi Arabia, Persian Gulf and Europe.

Universities in Egypt Admission Process

The rules for admission are simple, selected a higher education program and then select a university best suited to your requirement and then you initiate the process of admission.

  1. First you need to visit the official website of the selected university and start the process of registration.
  2. If the website allows you to upload the form online than you can simply fill and upload the form and if not than you can send the completed documents to university office.
  3. Selection is done if the candidate has fulfilled the eligibility criteria and other formalities only then they will be given a letter of acceptance.
  4. You can submit the program fees after that.

General Admission Requirements

For Bachelor’s Degree

Applicants must have a General Secondary Education Certificate (GSEC) or the Al-Azhar General Secondary Certificate. Grades may vary depending on the qualification undertaken, but will generally be a score of 70% or better.

For Master’s Degree

The standard requirement is that the candidate must hold a bachelor degree in a related specialization or its equivalent.

For Doctorate Degree

The admission requirement for doctorate studies in Egypt is that the candidate must hold a Master’s degree in a related specialization.

Note: Some universities may ask for TOEFL/IELTS for candidates coming from non English speaking countries.

 

Application Procedure
  • The application process to Egyptian institutions is centralized.
  • Students must apply on a central office called Coordination office for admission to Egyptian higher education institutions.
  • You must mark your preferences for faculties and programmes on the application form.
  • Fill out the application form completely and submit it along with the required documents.
