ICCR India Africa Maitri Scholarship Scheme for African Countries 2026-27 Apply Now, The ICCR India-Africa Maitri Scholarship Scheme for African Countries 2026-27 is an educational initiative launched by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The scholarship programme is designed to support students from Ghana who wish to pursue higher education in India.
Selected scholars will receive benefits including full tuition fee coverage, monthly living allowance, and additional academic support benefits during their course of study in India.

To apply for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be Ghanaian nationals and possess a passport valid for at least two years as of 1 July 2026.
- Candidates should be between 18 and 35 years of age for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Certificate, and Diploma programmes.
- Applicants for Ph.D. programmes must not exceed 40 years of age.
- Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the English language through valid supporting proof.

- There is no upper age limit for programmes related to Hindi, Sanskrit, or Indian performing arts unless specified by the concerned institution.
- Scholarships are not available for courses in Medical Science and para-medical disciplines such as Nursing, Physiotherapy, Anaesthesia, Laboratory Technology, and related fields.
- Integrated programmes such as BALLB (5 years), integrated B.Sc.-M.Sc. programmes, and similar courses are not covered under the scholarship.
- Foreign students are not eligible for admission into B.Tech programmes at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
- Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D. programmes in Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy are offered separately under the AYUSH Scholarship Schemes, which will be announced independently later in the year.

Selected candidates will receive the following benefits:
- Return economy-class airfare to the nearest airport to the place of study in India along with 3-tier AC train fare, wherever applicable
- Full tuition fee and other compulsory institutional charges paid directly to the universities
- Monthly stipend and living allowance
- House Rent Allowance (HRA)
- Contingency allowance
- Thesis/dissertation allowance
- Accommodation in campus hostels or at locations arranged by the university
Required Documents
Applicants need to submit the following documents:
- Valid passport and proof of age
- Academic transcripts and certificates
- Medical fitness certificate
- A 500-word essay in English or valid English proficiency test scores such as TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent examinations
Additional Notes
- All supporting documents must either be in English or accompanied by certified English translations.
- Candidates applying for performing arts courses must upload a recent performance video or provide a YouTube link showcasing their performance.
