Steel Authority of India Collieries Division Recruitment 2026 for General Duty Medial Officer (GDMO) Walk in Interview, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) – Collieries Division, the captive coal-producing unit of SAIL, has released a recruitment notification inviting applications from qualified doctors, including retired medical professionals, for engagement as General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs). The appointments will be made through a Walk-in Interview for its dispensaries located at Chasnalla, Jitpur, and Tasra in Dhanbad (Jharkhand) and Ramnagore in Paschim Bardhaman (West Bengal). Candidates applying for the General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) post must possess the following qualifications:

Criteria Details
Educational Qualification MBBS degree from a University/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the relevant regulatory authority.
Work Experience Candidates with relevant post-qualification work experience will be given preference.
Cut-off Date The required educational qualification and work experience, if applicable, will be considered as on the date of publication of the advertisement.

Eligible candidates possessing the prescribed qualification can attend the walk-in interview. Retired doctors, including ex-employees of SAIL, other PSUs, or Government organizations, may also apply, provided they did not retire through Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS). Ex-employees must submit a self-declaration confirming the same.

Candidates should not be more than 69 years of age as on the date of advertisement. The maximum permissible age for contractual engagement under the scheme is 70 years, subject to medical fitness.

₹1,00,000 (Consolidated) per month

 

 Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based on a Walk-in Interview, followed by a medical fitness screening. Selected candidates will be engaged immediately after the completion of the selection process and issuance of the engagement order.

Terms and Benefits

  • Selected doctors will work in the dispensaries of SAIL Collieries Division as per organizational requirements.
  • The duty schedule will normally be 8 hours per day, 6 days a week (48 hours per week). If engaged for fewer hours, remuneration will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
  • Subject to availability, doctors may be provided rent-free company accommodation (up to a 2-BHK quarter). Electricity, water, and other utility charges will be payable as per applicable SAIL rules.
  • A Company CUG SIM may be provided with monthly call charges, rental, and applicable taxes covered up to ₹350 per month.
  • Doctors will be entitled to free medical treatment for themselves and their spouse at Collieries Division/BGH, provided they are not already receiving similar benefits from their previous employer. Existing medical benefits for eligible ex-SAIL employees will continue as per applicable rules.
  • Contractual doctors will be eligible for 10 days of leave per year, subject to the terms and conditions of the engagement scheme.
