EdCIL India Limited Recruitment 2026 for 10 Consultants (Legal) Apply Now, EdCIL India Limited, a fast-growing and consistently profit-making “Mini Ratna (Category-I)” Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Education, is engaged in executing end-to-end projects in ICT, infrastructure, consultancy, and allied services in the education sector across India and overseas.

On behalf of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, EdCIL has invited online applications for the engagement of 10 Consultants (Legal). Consultant (Legal)

The applicant should possess an LLB degree with a minimum of 60% marks from a college/university recognized by the Government of India. Candidates having a 5-year integrated LLB course are also eligible.

Desirable: Candidates possessing an LLM degree will be preferred.

• Providing legal advice to the Division on all legal matters.

• Liaising with lawyers/panel counsels and arbitrators, and assisting in preparation of counter replies in court matters.

• Attending court hearings at Central as well as State level and preparing records of the hearing with regular follow-ups.

• Monitoring all ongoing court cases and maintaining status reports.

• Ensuring compliance and implementation of directives issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice from time to time.

• Analyzing legal issues and recommending suitable courses of action.

• Performing any other tasks assigned by the Head of the Division.

Desirable Skills

Good English speaking and writing skills.
Good knowledge of computers for preparing documents, presentations, and data sheets.

Experience

Applicants should possess at least 03 years of work experience in the legal field.

Age Limit

The applicant should not be more than 35 years of age as on 31.03.2026.

The applicant should be an Indian national.
Engagement of Consultant (Legal) will be on a full-time basis as per the normal business hours of the Ministry of Education. The Consultant (Legal) shall be engaged for Sections/Divisions under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, New Delhi.
The prescribed qualifications and experience should have been acquired on or before 31.03.2026. The educational qualifications should be from recognized institutions as mentioned in the official notification.
The selection process will be based on academic qualifications, aptitude, depth of knowledge, and experience, and may include written test, group discussion, and interview, depending on the total number of eligible applicants.
Documents in support of qualifications, experience, and age have to be produced in original as and when called for written test, group discussion, and/or interview.
In case of incorrect, false, or incomplete information/lack of proof to ascertain eligibility, the candidature will be summarily rejected at any stage of the selection process.
Mere submission of application or fulfillment of eligibility criteria does not entitle candidates to be called for written test/interview/selection. Call letters and recruitment-related information will be sent only through email to shortlisted candidates.

The initial period of engagement of Consultant (Legal) shall be for one year. Based on performance and requirement, the tenure may be extended further by one year at a time.
Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 70,000/- initially.
