Inlaks Fellowship for Social Engagement 2026, The Inlaks Fellowship for Social Engagement 2026, offered by the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation, is designed for graduates as well as early- and mid-career professionals. This fellowship provides individuals with the space to explore new pathways, make independent life decisions, and contribute meaningfully to social transformation. It also seeks to inspire greater youth involvement in public life and motivate them to question existing norms. Selected fellows can receive a monthly support amount of up to ₹45,000.

Eligibility Criteria
(Inlaks Fellowship for Social Engagement 2026)
To be eligible, the applicants must:-
- be an Indian citizen
- be currently residing in India
- be born on or after 1st January 1990
- hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised Indian institute OR
- have at least 3 years of relevant work experience
Note:- The candidates who are enrolled in academic studies/Ph.D. degree for the duration of the fellowship are ineligible to apply.
Benefits
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend in the following manner depending on the geographical location:
- ₹45,000 per month if the fellow is living and working in an “X” category area.
- ₹35,000 per month if the fellow is living and working in a “Y” category area.
- ₹25,000 per month if the fellow is living and working in a “Z” category area.
Note:-
In exceptional cases, additional funding up to a maximum of ₹20,000 can be granted for special projects undertaken by a fellow. This will be approved on a case-by-case basis upon submission of a proposal describing the particulars of the said initiative and the expenses involved.

- A passport-size photograph of the applicant
- Proof of age and citizenship (Aadhar card/Passport/Voter ID)
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae
Work plan including a title of the proposed work along with a concise description of the work or research the applicant plans to undertake during the fellowship period and expected outcomes of the work or research (Word Limit: Not more than 1,000 words)
Statement of Purpose addressing the following questions:
How does the work plan contribute to social change?
How does the applicant plan to contribute to the public discourse on the chosen issue? (Note:- The applicant could employ any medium such as writing for publications, publishing reports, filmmaking, photography, blogging, archiving, theatre, etc.) (Word Limit: Not more than 1,000 words)
Letter of Endorsement from the Mentor (on their official letterhead), which must include:
- A brief description of the mentor’s work experience
- A statement by the mentor as to why they endorse the applicant’s work plan
- Mentor’s contact details (email and official address)
The mentor must also state that they agree to supervise the applicant’s work during the fellowship period, as well as indicate their willingness to review and comment upon the applicant’s quarterly and annual progress reports.
Letter of Recommendation (Note:- For fresh graduates, an academic letter of recommendation is acceptable)
