NIFT 2026 Application Form Process

Step 1: Visit the NIFT Website: Navigate to the official website of NIFT. You can find the link provided on the homepage or through a search engine. Ensure you access the correct website to avoid any discrepancies.
Step 2: Click on “Click here to Apply”: Once on the NIFT homepage, locate and click on the “Click here to Apply” link. This link will redirect you to the application form page where you can begin the registration process.
Step 3: Fill out the Application Form: Provide all the required details in the application form, including personal information, academic qualifications, and contact details. Double-check the accuracy of the information entered before proceeding to the next step.
Step 4: Upload Scanned Photograph and Signature: Upload a scanned copy of your recent passport-size photograph, ensuring it does not exceed 200 KB. Similarly, upload your signature with a file size not exceeding 100 KB. Ensure both files are in jpg/jpeg/png format as specified.
Step 5: Pay Application Fee: Proceed to pay the application fee through online mode using Credit card, Debit card, or Net banking. Follow the instructions provided on the payment gateway to complete the transaction securely.
Step 6: Print Application Form: After successful submission, take a printout of the completed application form for your records and future reference. Retain the printout safely as it may be required during subsequent stages of the admission process.

- The NIFT 2026 application fee online has to be submitted by candidates by the use of Debit Card/ Credit Card/ UPI and Net Banking.
- For offline mode students have to make a Demand Draft in the favor of NIFT.

NIFT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

NIFT 2026 Exam Syllabus
The NIFT 2026 exam syllabus is divided into two categories General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT). For your reference please follow the below section for both the exam category.
NIFT 2026 Creative Ability Test (CAT)
The Creative Ability test (CAT) is designed to evaluate students on their abilities such as intuitiveness, observation power, and developing concept and design aptitude. The test also focuses on the aspirant’s aptitude on use of creativity, innovation in terms of use of colors and illustration.
Aspirants are required to work on their drawing skills and use of imagination while using colors at the same time. The CAT exam is designed to test students seeking admission in Bachelor of Design (B. Des.) or Master of Design (M. Des.) exam.
NIFT 2026 General Ability Test (GAT)
The General Ability Test (GAT) is for the B. Des. & M. Des programs. It comprises of the following sections:
- Quantitative Ability
- Communication Ability
- English Comprehension
- Analytical Ability
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs
- Quantitative Ability: To review the quantitative ability of candidates. The major areas of testing in this section are Addition, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Percentage, Rate of Interest, Work and Task, Ratio and Proportion and Distance.
- Communicative Ability: To evaluate their language skills and its use in day-to-day communication in English. This sub-section includes questions from Synonyms, Antonyms, Words with corresponding meanings, Singular, Plural, One-word Substitutes, Idioms and Phrases, Spelling correction etc.
- English Comprehension: The candidate is reviewed on their reading abilities and comprehending abilities of a given situation in the given unseen passage. This section tests the Basic English language skills by asking questions based on the passage.
- Analytical Ability: It is a sub-section which is designed to evaluate the candidate’s capacity for the ability of inference and logic from the given information. This section has questions from the areas of logical reasoning where candidates are supposed to draw logical conclusions from the analytical reasoning questions.
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs: It is a sub-section; it is designed to test the candidate’s general awareness and current affairs. The questions in this section are put up from the current affairs and general knowledge.
NIFT 2026 Exam Admit Card
The NIFT 2026 entrance exam Admit Card will be available online by the February 2026. It will have the details like roll number, name of candidate and allotted examination center for the entrance exam.
If any student will find any discrepancy on the data shown on the admit card should right away consult the NIFT examination authority so that necessary changes can be done on time.
For admission into the examination all students have to get their admit card checked so it is very important to carry the admit card during the examination. Also a government authorized ID proof should also be carried during the examination.
NIFT 2026 Exam Result
The NIFT 2026 entrance exam result will be publishing around April 2026. The results can only be obtained through signing into the official website by using the same login credentials created at the time of registration.

NIFT 2026 Admission Counseling
The NIFT 2026 admission counselings will be announced soon. To be eligible for the counselings the student has to secure the minimum cut off marks.ST APPLICATIONS FOR VARIOUS UG COURSES OPEN 2020:
To register for the counsel the candidate have to again visit the official NIFT exam portal and register their by paying counseling fee. Candidate also has to select the course and campus while registering for the counselling session.
During the counseling itself the student has to verify original documents and should also bring the counseling letter downloaded from the website at the time of counseling along with all necessary documents.
