Introduction: Rajiv Gandhi University Distance Education Courses, first of all the university is a central university and was established in the year 1984 in Itanagar Arunachal Pradesh. During the times when Indira Gandhi was prime minister of India, she laid the foundation of the university and later when Sonia Gandhi visited the university she renamed it to Rajiv Gandhi University. The institution is also famous because it is one of the oldest one in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
Institute of Distance Education is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University. The institute aims is to provide higher education opportunities to those who are unable to join regular academic and vocational education programmes in the affiliated colleges of the University and make higher education reach to the doorsteps in rural and geographically remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh in particular and North-eastern part of India in general. The education through distance mode is an alternative mode of imparting instruction to overcome the problems of access, infrastructure and socio-economic barriers. The institute offers Bachelor degree and Certificate programmes in the field of Art.
Rajiv Gandhi University has been offering distance education program at undergraduate level and started bachelor’s Degree in five subjects namely Economics, Education, English, History and Political Science from the session 2005-06. During the session 2006-07, two more subjects namely Hindi and Sociology have been added to its undergraduate program. During the session 2007-08, Tribal Studies has been added to its undergraduate program in addition to two certificate courses. ‘Certificate Course in Fisheries Technology’ and ‘Certificate Course in English for Communication’ have been introduced in the same session. The courses have been recognized and approved by the Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi.

Rajiv Gandhi University Distance Education Courses Admission for Session
Rajiv Gandhi University Distance Education admission will begin soon for the January session. Registration will remain open for Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree/diploma programs. The admission application form can be submitted with a late fee of INR 300. Late applications can be accepted by the middle of September. Counseling shall start in the RGU Study centers. Rajiv Gandhi University Distance Education IDE proposes Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree programs such as BA, MA Education, English, Hindi, Political Science, Sociology, and more.
Rajiv Gandhi University Distance Education admission form and the prospectus can be collected directly from the study centers by paying a fee of INR 100. Payment can be made online through DD/NEFT. No cash will be accepted. Admission confirmation of Rajiv Gandhi University Distance Education will be made after the verification process. RGU IDE admission fee is INR 600.

Rajiv Gandhi University Distance Education Courses Application Process
The applicant wants to submit a distance application for admission to Rajiv Gandhi University. On payment of Rupees 100/-, the study centre will release the admission form and prospectus. Pay application fees to SBI Itanagar using a debit/credit card, net banking, or another financial method.
On the university’s official website, you may find the application form. Fill it out correctly. Along with the Demand Draft made out to the Registrar at Rajiv Gandhi University, including any other necessary documents.
Online Application Process
- Candidates can take admission online by visiting the website link – http://ide.rgu.ac.in/
- Fill all the required and correct information in the form of access.
- After filling all the information check correctly and then click on the submit button.
- After completing all the process, students can pay the application fee through demand draft or cash.
- Students can also pay fees through NEFT to the Institute of Distance Education.
